Responsible for transporting Dexter trailer products from the Distribution Center to various branch locations along the East Coast, ensuring timely and safe delivery while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Safely operate company equipment, including an automatic sleeper cab tractor pulling a 53' dry van.
- Deliver products to designated branches in states such as FL, GA, NC, SC, PA, and NY.
- Maintain an average of 2,300–3,000 miles per week; routes may vary weekly.
- Adhere to a schedule that typically begins Sunday night and concludes Friday, with overnight stays as required by operational demands.
- Ensure home time every weekend.
- Accurately document cargo details, including type and quantity.
- Communicate promptly with dispatch regarding incidents or delays; follow established procedures in the event of an accident.
- Monitor road conditions and traffic patterns to ensure safe and efficient travel.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report and document any defects or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, activities, and rest periods in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Report serious mechanical issues to appropriate personnel.
- Take required rest breaks and exercise caution during adverse conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Valid Class A CDL Required.
- Dry Van experience preferred.
- 1 year experience, including manual.
- Proven working experience as a commercial truck driver.
- Clean driving record - No DWI/DUI in the last 3 years.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
