The HR Coordinator will work closely with the Human Resources Manager to provide essential administrative support across a variety of HR and other department functions when requested. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, supporting recruitment and onboarding activities, and addressing employee inquiries with professionalism and care. Additionally, the HR Coordinator will manage the main entrance and lobby area, serving as the welcoming face of the Plant for visitors and employees alike. This position also includes answering and directing calls to the Plant’s main phone line and ensuring ongoing compliance with HR policies and regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of legally sound and effective Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Support the Plant HR Manager in ensuring compliance with all HR-related regulations and standards.
- Manage and execute assigned HR projects with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Participate in the recruitment process, including screening applicants, conducting interviews, and facilitating pre-employment checks.
- Complete, verify, and maintain I-9 documentation in compliance with federal requirements.
- Process and submit weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Coordinate, plan, and execute employee engagement and recognition events.
- Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
- Schedule and conduct new hire orientations to ensure smooth onboarding experiences.
- Process employee hires and terminations across all relevant systems, including ADP, AOD, and Grainger Keepstock safety system.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly HR reports as required.
- Ensure all HR-related communications are appropriately posted and updated.
- Assist with investigations and help facilitate resolution processes when needed.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on health benefits, short-term disability (STD), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other leave programs consulting with our vendors.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide support when they are behind or in need of assistance.
- Maintain the main entrance and lobby area of the plant, ensuring it is clean, organized, and appropriate for a professional business setting.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's Degree or related field and two (2) years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Human Resource knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations. Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS-Office products. Previous experience working in an applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS.
EDUCATION: Associates Degree in related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent and 2 year of experience in a related field of Human Resources.
