We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Server Engineer to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting a range of server infrastructure, primarily focused on Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and various backup and monitoring solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of server technologies, cloud environments, and networking, with the ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain complex systems. You will be a key player in ensuring the stability and security of our IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Server Management: Administer, configure, and troubleshoot on-premises and cloud-based server environments with a focus on Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
- Azure & EntraID: Manage and support Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking. Utilize EntraID for identity and access management across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Active Directory: Maintain and manage Active Directory services, including user accounts, group policies, security permissions, and trusts.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Administer and support Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS) for enterprise-level backup and recovery strategies.
- Collaboration Tools: Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications, MS Teams, and other related productivity tools, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Networking & TCP/IP Suite: Configure and support network infrastructure, including understanding and troubleshooting TCP/IP stack, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Set up and maintain monitoring tools to ensure the performance and reliability of systems. Investigate and resolve issues in real-time through proactive monitoring and alerting systems.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of server infrastructure, processes, and troubleshooting steps. Prepare regular performance and status reports for management.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Server Engineer or in a similar technical role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including services like Azure VMs, Azure Active Directory, and related cloud resources.
- Experience with EntraID for identity management and security in a hybrid environment.
- Proficiency in managing Active Directory (user accounts, group policies, DNS, GPOs).
- Experience using Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS) for backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP suite and network infrastructure concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications and MS Teams, with a focus on troubleshooting and support.
- Familiarity with Citrix platform a plus.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization practices (e.g., setting up alerts, diagnosing issues).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.
- Experience with additional backup solutions or cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).
- Experience in scripting or automating common server tasks.
