JOB DESCRIPTION
Manage the inventory pipeline to support existing and new business, as
well as expansions. When needed, lead the
acquisition process for assigned products and team members to ensure we have
the right items, in the right place, at the right time.
More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
- Follow up on all past due material, reconcile open orders with suppliers and ensure accurate expected material quantities and dates are updated in ERP system
- Analyze insufficient inventory reports, placing required spot buys to fulfill requirements and/or expediting material already on purchase order
- Resolve receiving and supplier invoice discrepancies
- Review supplier shipping errors and take appropriate action
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance related to on-time delivery, fill-rate, and shipping errors
- Work cross functionally to communicate opportunities for improvement
- Leverage existing reports to achieve goals
- Demonstrate detailed understanding of supplier minimum order requirements, lead times, ABC Classification, safety stock and reorder point calculations
- Communicate min / max disputes to assigned planner / forecaster
- Execute buying strategies to maintain inventory availability while minimizing working capital investment
- Collaborate and meet with vendors regularly
- Collaborate and meet with Procurement
- Collaborate with Logistics and Brand Managers to optimize freight expenses
- Provide cross functional support and training to other team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Adheres to company policies and procedures
- Willing to operate in an open communication culture with a cross functional team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years directly related experience
- Exceptional communication, interpretation, and organizational skills
- Working grasp of best practices in inventory management including replenishment methods and inventory turn management
- General knowledge sufficient to perform the major job duties and tasks. Includes proficiency in word processing, and spreadsheets to prepare business reports and correspondence with speed and accuracy. Also includes keyboarding and ten-key sufficient to enter data and prepare reports and documents quickly and accurately. Includes understanding all applicable ERP screens and tools sufficient to maintain the appropriate quantity of stocking inventory to maximize ROI, and customer service
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively across the distribution team
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields of study preferred or 5+ years of related experience.
