We are seeking a motivated and experienced Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SD-WAN networks (preferably Cato Networks), TCP/IP protocols, Cisco IOS, Meraki access points, and network infrastructure management in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the network infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
Responsibilities:
- Network Design & Implementation:
- Configure and manage Cisco network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Implement and Cato Networks SD-WAN, ensuring optimal network performance.
- Design and support network topologies and architecture to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Protocol and Connectivity:
- Troubleshoot and optimize TCP/IP connectivity, including understanding routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Manage DHCP, DNS, and IP Addressing for internal network and remote users.
- Ensure network security and data integrity by configuring appropriate firewall and security rules.
- Meraki Management:
- Manage and support Meraki wireless solutions (access points, security appliances, switches).
- Monitor Meraki dashboard and troubleshoot issues related to wireless connectivity, performance, and security.
- Network Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular network assessments, ensure uptime, and implement fixes for network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot network problems using diagnostic tools, and resolve issues related to connectivity, hardware, and configuration.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with the IT team and external supplier partners to deploy network solutions and improvements.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and troubleshooting steps.
- Manufacturing Environment Support:
- Support networking solutions in a manufacturing environment, ensuring network availability for critical business applications and operational equipment.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth connectivity for IoT devices, production equipment, and automation systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in a network engineering role, with a focus on Cisco technologies.
- Strong experience with SD-WAN solutions (preferably Cato Networks).
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, including IP address management, DHCP, DNS, and routing.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and managing Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience managing Meraki Access Points and other wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN environments.
- Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher preferred.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) a plus.
- Cato Networks SD-WAN certification or similar SD-WAN qualifications are a plus.
- Industry Experience:
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with integrating IoT devices, industrial control systems, and other specialized equipment into the network is a bonus.
- Technical Competencies:
- Strong understanding of network security, VPN, and firewall technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot network performance issues and implement solutions effectively.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, OpManager, etc.) is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
