The Director of Operations will oversee and drive the performance of the US Dexter Branch distribution locations within their region. This pivotal role is essential for championing safety, ensuring exceptional quality, optimizing efficiency, and spearheading revenue growth. The Director is instrumental in driving continuous improvements in operational processes and delivering innovative solutions that consistently surpass customer expectations. By developing, executing, and aligning strategic priorities with the organization’s overall objectives, this role ensures the sustained success and advancement of US operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Ensure efficient and successful operations while achieving key performance metrics.
- Oversee expense management, regulatory compliance, and safety performance.
- Drive the thorough execution of business initiatives across all locations.
- Team Development:
- Provide ongoing training and resources to ensure team members are equipped to succeed.
- Build and foster high-performing, cohesive teams in a multi-site environment.
- System Optimization:
- Identify, justify, and implement system and automation enhancements to improve execution and customer experience.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong client relationships by learning and anticipating customer needs.
- Ensure exceptional service delivery to drive customer retention and satisfaction.
- Growth & Sales:
- Drive new sales growth and ensure consistent client retention through quality service delivery.
- Financial Oversight:
- Manage operating budgets, including labor and general expenses, ensuring targets are met.
- Monitor and adjust activities to optimize financial performance, achieving full P&L accountability for US branches.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement short- and long-term operational strategies in partnership with senior leadership.
- Ensure strategies achieve measurable outcomes in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Safety Leadership:
- Promote a strong safety culture to reduce or eliminate operations-related injuries and accidents.
- Ensure thorough implementation and consistent execution of safety programs.
- Project Management:
- Manage operational projects while ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Balance strategic priorities with tactical execution.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience in distribution or a similar industry, or equivalent education and experience.
- Proven track record leading multi-site wholesale distribution operations.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in high-volume distribution environments.
- Ability to manage projects and resources remotely within a dispersed organization.
- Sales & Client Management:
- Demonstrated experience in sales and customer relationship management.
- Analytical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, to analyze and interpret data.
- Experience using data-driven methods to manage productivity and solve problems.
- Strategic & Financial Acumen:
- Skills in strategy design and implementation, network optimization, workflow design, and P&L management.
- Strong business planning skills to complete strategic projects in rapidly evolving environments.
- Other Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech distribution center environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 60-70% as needed.
