This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and will be working on a team while assembly parts on the brake line, in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be responsible for activities including, but not limited to the following:
- Builds brakes through different processes including.
- Lifting plates, arms, and shoes onto workstation table
- Assembling plates, shoe, arm, and spring into full brake assembly
- Loading assembled brakes onto pallet for transport
- Lifting up to 35 pounds
- Standing, reaching, balancing, stretching lower extremities constantly
- Grasping, pinching and fine manipulation frequently.
- Bending and squatting occasionally
- Working indoors where temperatures could be hot/cold, depending on season.
- Mandatory PPE for eyes, ears, hands, and feet to prevent exposure to hazardous materials or injury.
- May be required to work overtime, including weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Prior manufacturing experience on an assembly line preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and other simple documents. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and looks for ways to promote quality. Observes safety procedures. Maintains good attendance.
- Hand tool experience is a plus – totes, brakes, shoes, arms, springs, plates, pallets, small carts, small hand tools.
